A "totally new" version of the
centre-left Democratic Party (PD) is needed, PD leader Nicola
Zingaretti told the PD directorate on Tuesday.
"We need a totally new party", he said.
"I say after 12 years enough talk of reforms, enough waiting,
enough fears, enough conservatism.
"We need a political and national force that is different
from what we are."
He called for "an open phase for a different party".
Zingaretti added: "Too often we have delegated to a leader
the destinies of our community".
