Former premier and ex-Democratic
Party (PD) leader Matteo Renzi said Monday that Italy can once
more be a protagonist on the international scene if League
leader Matteo Salvini is "sent home".
"If it sends Salvini home, Italy will return to being a
protagonist," he tweeted.
"Europe must change its economic policy now," said the PD
heavyweight.
"The recession is arriving in Germany: exports are not
enough.
"Brexit will be a disaster for everyone.
"The clash between the USA and China sees us looking in at
the window.
"Now is the time for investments, not austerity".
