A former Emilia Romagna regional
councillor for the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S),
Giovanni Favia, was found guilty Wednesday of defaming the later
co-founder of the movement, Gianroberto Casaleggio.
Favia had questioned the propriety of economic ties between
the Casaleggio Associati firm and the blog of the other
co-founder, comedian Beppe Grillo.
Favia was fined 500 euros.
Casaleggio died in April 2016 and was replaced as the M5S
'guru' by his son Davide.
