President Sergio Mattarella said
in a message to the CGIL trade union Tuesday that "work is a
priority in Italians' attentions, within the rapid change that
marks this phase, pushed by transformations in technologies and
global markets".
He stressed the importance of the "dignity and rights"
conferred by work.
Mattarella added that trade unions are responsible
protagonists of Italian life.
The CGIL is Italy's biggest and most leftwing union.
