Premier Giuseppe Conte suggested
Thursday that his government was not set to make major changes
to its budget plan for 2019 after the European Commission
rejected the package.
"We are not willing to give up anything that is for the
Italian people," Conte said.
"We are responsible. There is no rebellion against the EU.
"We and Europe have a common objective - we are working to
reduce the (public) debt".
