Premier Giuseppe Conte had a
meeting with his two deputy premiers, Matteo Salvini and Luigi
Di Maio, at the Lower House on Wednesday.
The meeting follows tension within the ruling alliance over a
defeat on Tuesday in a secret vote in the House on an amendment
to an anti-corruption bill.
This meant a reform of measures regarding misappropriation
wanted by Di Maio's 5-Star Movement and reluctantly backed by
Salvini's League party was scrapped.
On Wednesday Conte and Interior Minister Salvini both
described the defeat as an ordinary slip up that will be
rectified later.
"The news is that the bill will be approved by the House on
its third reading at the end of December," Conte said at the end
of Wednesday's meeting.
