President Sergio Mattarella has
signed the fiscal decree linked to the government's 2019 budget
plan, sources said Tuesday.
The decree features measure for a so-called fiscal peace to
help people terminate disputes with the tax authorities.
The government was rocked last week when Deputy Premier and
Labour and Industry Minister Di Maio said the decree had been
manipulated without the consent of his 5-Star Movement (M5S) to
broaden its scope.
According to reports, the League had allegedly raised
thresholds and extended the decree to allegedly include tax
dodging and money laundering, as well as money held abroad.
On Saturday, Di Maio, Premier Giuseppe Conte and Deputy
Premier and Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, the League leader,
reached a deal on the decree that saw an amnesty for capital
returning from overseas scrapped.
