Economy Minister Giovanni Tria
is working to find solutions to find the cash needed to pay for
landmark policies like a basic income and a pension overhaul,
League sources said Friday.
They said this morning "there was a very positive meeting and
minister Tria noted the political will of the League and the
5-Star Movement (M5S) to achieve important formulas of change,
from the basic income for Italians to the reform of pensions,"
they said.
One of the participants in the meeting told the League
sources what happened.
"Now there is a commitment by all to hone proposals, and by
minister Tria to seek solutions," the participant reportedly
said.
The basic income is the flagship pledge of the M5S while the
League's key promise is the overhaul of the controversial 2011
Fornero pension reform as well as introducing a 'flat tax' which
will actually feature two or more brackets.
