Public order panel to meet in Ostia (2)

After 'serious episodes' of intimidation

(ANSA) - Rome, November 10 - Rome's provincial public order and security committee will meet in Ostia on November 14 ahead of the run-offs in municipal elections November 19 to review security procedures for the vote in the light of recent "serious episodes" including an attack on a RAI TV crew probing suspected links between the town's Spada crime family and the Fascist CasaPound group. Clan chief Carmine Spada's brother Roberto head-butted a RAI journalist, breaking his nose, and attacked a cameraman with a stick. He has been arrested. There were other incidents of suspected intimidation ahead of last Sunday's vote.
CasaPound scored an unexpectedly high 9% in the first round. The run-off will be between representatives of the centre right and the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement.
