Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano
reacted to French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen's request
to shut France's borders after yesterday's terror attack in
Paris by saying "history tells us that terrorists know no
borders". He said "zero risk does not exist, shutting borders
does not make us safer", stressing that "so far Italy has been a
safe country thanks to the intelligence services, the police
forces and the government's effective action". A French police
officer was killed and two others injured in Thursday night's
attack on the Champs Elysees.
