Some 42.974 migrants have arrived
by sea in Europe since the start of the year and 962 have died
on the way, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM)
said Friday. Some 85% of the arrivals were registered in Italy
(36,703) and the highest number of deaths, 898, was seen on the
central Mediterranean route. Italy bears the brunt of migrants
arriving by sea from Libya.
