The ruling centre-left Democratic
Party (PD) will decide what to do if the No wins Sunday's
Constitutional reform referendum "in the established fora", PD
leader and Premier Matteo Renzi said Thursday. He was replying
to a question on whether he would back a new government, perhaps
an ad hoc one to pass the budget and frame a new electoral law.
It is uncertain whether Renzi will honour an initial pledge to
quit if the No vote wins and his government's overhaul of
Italy's political machinery is rejected.
