Talks on the Transatlantic Trade
and Investment Partnership (TTIP) are going ahead and "the final
round is often decisive," German Chancellor Angela Merkel's
spokesman Steffen Seibert said Monday after Vice Chancellor
Sigmar Gabriel said the TTIP talks were de facto sunk.
Steiffert added that "there is no disagreement" with Gabriel
on the fact that Brussels and Washington were at odds "on
several major questions".
The German industrialists' association said it was
"astonished" at Gabriel's statements.
