Two suspected human traffickers
have been detained in Catania in relation to a migrant-boat
wreck in the Strait of Sicily on Thursday in which 10 women
died, ANSA sources said on Friday. The Italian Coast Guard saved
over 100 people from the wreck. The suspected traffickers are a
Senegalese and a Gambian. The pair will face charges of abetting
illegal immigration and also, possibly, manslaughter, judicial
sources said. In a separate case, two minors were arrested for
migrant smuggling near Ragusa.
