The Rome prosecutor's office on
Friday filed to dismiss a case against a financial intermediary
accused of obstructing oversight, in which investigators also
questioned Premier Matteo Renzi as a "person informed on the
facts" of the case.
The case is part of a larger insider trading probe that
began in February 2015 after the head of Italian market
regulator Consob, Giuseppe Vega, made statements about
privileged information having been released to investors
regarding a government measure to save four failed Italian banks
last year.
