Senate Speaker Pietro Grasso said
Monday supporting "an internal, unified political solution" in
Libya is 'inescapable'. "A unity government, even if unable to
fully execute its functions, would be an important interlocutor
for the international community," he said. He also said equating
migrants with terrorism is a "baseless and politically
irresponsible" position. "Our duty is to protect the life and
security of our citizens by using the tools of the rule of law -
investigations, intelligence, diplomacy - while guaranteeing the
rights of all people within the international framework," Grasso
said.
