United States President
Barack Obama will receive Italian President Sergio Mattarella in
Washington, DC, on February 8, White House spokesman Josh
Earnest said Friday.
The two leaders will discuss joint efforts in the fight
against the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group and
the ongoing global refugee crisis.
Italy is a highly valued NATO ally, the White House said in
a statement.
Also on the agenda will be US economic developments and the
Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), the
statement said.
Mattarella will be in the United States from February 6-13,
according to the statement.
