The "Holy Year" Jubilee is going
to be very different from the Milan Expo World Fair in terms of
construction and preparation, which will simply involve some
"restyling" for the Rome event, city prefect Franco Gabrielli
said on Tuesday.
Gabrielli told #Corrierelive that he was cooperating well
with Francesco Paolo Tronca, the commissioner who is
administering Rome ahead of new mayoral elections early next
year. He said he was focusing on the coordination of local
authorities as prefect and Tronca had his clear duties as well.
Gabrielli ruled out standing for mayor himself, but said
the big challenge for the next person to fill the post would be
to choose a good team to work with.
"The next mayor will have to be surrounded by very capable
people, partly due to the complexity and partly due to the
conditions the administrative machine is in," he said.
