Parliament's anti-mafia commission
indicated four Puglia candidates Tuesday as being unfit to stand
in May 31 regional elections.
They are Giovanni Copertino from Silvio Berlusconi's
center-right Forza Italia (FI), Fabio Ladisa from the Christian
Democrat-oriented People's Party, Massimiliano Oggiano from FI
splinter party Beyond with Fitto, and Enzo Palmisano, also from
a People's Party-area list.
The commission added it momentarily suspended its session
for lack of information and that it will unveil its complete
blacklist of about a dozen candidates with criminal records or
chequered histories on Friday.
Democratic Party (PD) leader and Premier Matteo Renzi said
earlier his party does not have any 'unpresentable' candidate in
its lists for the elections to take place in seven Italian
regions next weekend.
The anti-euro, anti-immigrant Northern League has also said
it has no candidate on the list.
