The fight against corruption begins
at school, Education Minister Stefania Giannini said Thursday.
"The fight against corruption starts from the individual,
from personal choices made even at school," Giannini told an
ANSA forum.
Her comments came the day after the Italian parliamentary
anti-mafia commission approved a long-called-for anti-corruption
bill with the backing of the Supreme Magistrates Council (CSM).
Pressure to pass anti-corruption legislation has been
growing as the result of a raft of graft scandals involving
politicians on both sides of the political spectrum.
