Silvio Berlusconi won't be able
to run for office or hold any official political or
administrative positions until November 2019 even though he saw
one of two bans run out Tuesday.
Under the terms of the 2013 Severino law, in fact, he is
still banned for six years starting from when he was ejected
from the Senate in November 2013.
The three-time former premier could get that reduced by a
year under appeal to the Italian high court.
He is appealing to the European Court of Human Rights to
have it lifted entirely, on the grounds it was applied
retroactively.
