(ANSA) Rome, March 27 - Premier Matteo Renzi's approval
ratings have edged down one percentage point to 40% over the
past week while public confidence in his coalition government
remains unchanged at just 32%, according to the results of an
Ixé Institute poll published Friday.
President Sergio Mattarella remains the most popular
politician for Italians by far with an approval rating of 71%,
only slightly down from 71% while Northern League leader Matteo
Salvini's rating increased to 23% from 21% and former premier
Silvio Berlusconi was up by one percentage point to 15%.
Former comic Beppe Grillo's approval rating was unchanged
at 14% as was Interior Minister Angelino Alfano with a mere 13%.
