Sources told ANSA Thursday
that former cabinet minister Claudio Scajola and Gianni De
Gennaro are included in an investigation into circumstances
around the death of Marco Biagi, killed by the Red Brigades in
Bologna on March 19, 2002. At the time Scajola and De Gennaro
were interior minister and chief of police respectively. Biagi,
a labour ministry aide, was gunned down by the terrorist group
after being denied a police escort by Scajola. He has reportedly
said if Biagi had had an escort 3 people would have been dead.
