Jyrki Katainen, the European commissioner for jobs, growth, investment and competitiveness, said Thursday that Italy may be able to exploit the new room for manoeuvre created by the EC allowing more flexibility for investment in the application of the EU's budget rules. "It's possible," Katainen said in parliament in Rome. But Katainen also stressed that it is necessary to wait until the spring economic forecasts before deciding.
