Concerns about reforms to
Italy's employment laws should be laid to rest with a new law
that will be passed soon, cabinet undersecretary Graziano Delrio
said Monday.
Speaking outside the European Parliament, he said that
reforms proposed by the government of Premier Matteo Renzi would
provide better safeguards for workers under the rising number of
contract positions in Italy.
He said the "old system" including controversial Article 18
of the 1970 Workers Statute are not adequate to deal with
Italy's modern labour problems.
