Italian Minister of Education,
Stefania Giannini, on Wednesday said she expected a healthy
debate on the school reform package recently unveiled by the
government.
"We've hit the nail on the head", Giannini said referring
to the issue of temporary employment, during a forum with ANSA,
in which she addressed the new school plans including the hiring
of as many as 150,000 teachers put forward by her cabinet.
"In Italy we've managed to normalize temporary employment,
not by hiring more people but by transforming it into a
permanent condition" added Giannini.
