The Sultanate of Brunei will export its branded, halal food products to Italy, officials announced at Expo Milan 2015 on Tuesday.
"The 'Brunei Halal' brand is the result of a project of the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources of Brunei, with the cooperation of the Islamic Religious Council of Brunei, the Religious Affairs and Health Ministries. Halal foods are sought after in the Italian market given their limited distribution in supermarkets", a company statement said.
Brunei Halal debuted government certified food products prepared in accordance with the precepts of Islamic law at the Milan Expo 2015. The objective is to ensure product quality and "push Brunei to a modern and competitive diversification for a sustainable economy".
