Italians are determined to avoid waste this Christmas with as many as 81% planning to re-cycle any left-overs from their traditional slap-up Yuletide meals, a survey found Tuesday.
In all, 64% of those interviewed by the Waste Watcher Observatory organised by the SWG market research organisation said they will eat their left-overs in days after Christmas, 12% said they would conserve them in their freezers and 5% said they would invite friends and relatives to enjoy the scraps.
As many as 18% said they would have no left-overs and only 1.1% said they will throw away anything that is not immediately scoffed.
