Supermodel Naomi Campbell is the star of La Perla's Fall/Winter 2015 advertising campaign, photographed by famed fashion duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott (a.k.a. "Mert and Marcus"), the Italian lingerie house announced Tuesday.
The theme of the collection is "impossible lace," modeled on a design challenge to reproduce an intricate lace created in the early 1900s.
The lace couldn't be produced on modern looms, and the project was handed over to a master lacemaker in Calais, France, who overcame the challenges so that the "impossible lace" could become part of La Perla's Made to Measure collection.
In the campaign, Campbell also wears a metallic gold bathing suit shaped like a stylized anchor and made with a technique called "soutache", part of the Atelier collection.
