(ANSAmed) - NAPLES, AUGUST 5 - A unique tourist itinerary
under UNESCO protection with new facilities will be a journey
around Vesuviius, described as "Creator Vesevo".
The itinerary will bring together the municipalities in
Italy's southern region of Campania of Naples, Herculaneum,
Pompeii and Torre Annunziata through 4 million euros in funding
from the regional government.
The improvements in the tourist itinerary will be carried out
between the UNESCO historic center paths of Naples and the
archaeological areas of Herculaneaum, Pompeii and Torre
Annunziata.
Naples will get 3,350,000 euros, of which 1,475,000 will be
for promotional, communications and improvement of cultural
heritage activities. Some 1,675,000 will be for restoration,
conservation, special maintenance, installation of technical
aspects and the purchase of equipment for the use of cultural
heritage in Castel Nuovo, San Domenico Maggiore, l'Annunziata,
the PAN museum and the Museum of Totò.
Herculaneum will also get 249,840 euros for a cultural
project for restoration work, the installing of technical
devices and equipment purchase for the use of the historic
garden of the Villa Comunale sul Miglio d'oro.
Pompeii will get 250,000 for work on the Palazzo De Fusco and
the gardens off the ancient Pompeii Thermal Baths, while Torre
Annunziata will get 150,000 euros for a project entering on
