The Venice Biennale on
Wednesday named Lebanese architect Hashim Sarkis director of the
17th international architecture show in 2020.
Sarkis, 54, has been dean of the School of Architecture and
Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since
2015.
In 1998 he founded Hashim Sarkis Studios (HSS), which has
offices in Boston and Beirut.
Sarkis was a member of the architecture biennale's jury in
2016 and took part in the 2014 show for the US and the 2010 show
for Albania.
