Four Italian films will be
competing for the best film prize at the Rome Film Festival from
October 13-23, organisers said Friday. They are Michele
Placido's '7 Minuti'; Karen Di Porto's 'Maria per Roma';
Francesco Patierno's Naples '44; and Daniele Vicari's 'Sole
Cuore Amore'. In all 11 Italian films will be shown at the
event. This year will be the 112th edition of the younger rival
to the Venice Film Festival. The Rome fest was founded in 2006
and traditionally highlights less arty fare as well as
encouraging audience participation in voting.
