Sky Italia, Cattleya, Indiana,
Italian International Film, Palomar and Wildside on Monday
announced a deal to set up a new film distribution company in
the next few weeks. "This new reality is being born to support
and stimulate Italian cinema, through an innovative, open and
participatory model," a statement said. "For the first time," it
said, "a media company operating in the pay and free sectors and
some major Italian independent producers are joining forces to
offer the market new opportunities, with the possibility of
trying different paths both on the level of distribution models
and on that of contents and language, enriching cinema offerings
to the advantage of cinema lovers, the public and consumers in
general".
