Milano Expo 2015 Commissioner
Giuseppe Sala said on Tuesday he expected a positive trend in
visitor numbers in September and October and that organisers
were planning a series of events leading up to the end of the
fair.
Sala said the visitor number figures for August "were good,
particularly for the second half of the month," adding that for
this reason he was "optimistic about the trend in September and
October".
U2 frontman Bono is due to visit Expo on Sunday to take
part in an event focused on world hunger, and Sala said
organisers were planning similar events and visitors in the last
two months of Expo.
"Up to now we have welcomed mainly prominent politicians
and representatives from every corner of the world, now we are
trying to shift attention to content," he said.
