Expo 2015 organisers have taken
into account the needs of children visiting the universal
exposition including a Children Park where youngsters can play
educational games on the theme of feeding the planet, organisers
said Wednesday.
The Children Park organised by Reggio Children and the
Milan city council will have eight play areas for ages 4 to 10
featuring games such as 'Ring around the Planet, Ring around the
Future,' a water drop hunt to avoid waste, and a multi-media
game in which children transformed into trees must be careful
not to let leaves fall.
"We thought of children and made choices accordingly
starting from four or five years ago," said Expo commissar
Giuseppe Sala, repeating once again that Expo is "one of the
most protected places in the world".
All of Expo is children-friendly ranging from the Zero
Pavilion where dozens of animals are reproduced and a giant tree
emerges from the pavement, to adventures in the biodiversity
park and the laboratories in the Palazzo Italia.
"Nearly everything is suitable for families," said
Children Park curator Sabina Cantarelli. Some attractions are
specificially for children such as the Kinder+Sport spaces and
services offered by Chicco (such as prams and nappies) and the
parade that the Expo Foody mascots will perform every day from
11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
