Traffic was snarled Tuesday night in central Rome amid filming of the latest James Bond spy thriller - this time, with a car chase scene featuring high-performance autos.
An Aston Martin, a glittering metallic silver as befits the 007 agent, was spotted being moved by truck along the hectic Corso Vittorio Emanuele for a major chase scene.
At the same time, a rust-coloured Jaguar was also being put in place for the chase along the Corso, from Largo Tassoni through Largo di Torre Argentina.
With speeds of up to 200 km per hour, slightly faster than normal speeds in Rome's centre, the street was closed to regular traffic for the scene with British actor Daniel Craig in the lead role.
The Jaguar was being driven by Dave Batista, six-time world wrestling champion and the villain in the film.
Shooting began last week for the film titled Spectre, the 24th movie in the Bond saga inspired by the spy novels of Ian Fleming.
Other scenes that are to be shot in Rome before March 12 under the direction of Sam Mendes are a parachute jump onto the pedestrian Renaissance Ponte Sisto across the Tiber.
Enterprising residents along the car-chase route were reportedly offering their flats to Bond fans for 1,000 euros a day to watch the set up and shooting.
Spectre is set for release in the autumn.
The film marks the fourth appearance for Craig as Bond, following his debut as the master spy in the 2006 Casino Royale followed by Quantum of Solace in 2008, and 2012's Skyfall.
