The number of at-risk drinkers in
Italy has risen to 8.7 million, the Higher Health Institute
(ISS) said Friday.
While the number of male problem drinkers is steady at 6.2
million, the number of females has risen to 2.5 million, the ISS
said.
Binge-drinking is also on the rise despite programmes aimed at
reducing it, the institute said.
This is "especially true" of young people, some as young as 11,
it said.
