A court in the German city of
Essen ruled Friday that an arrest warrant for two German
managers of ThyssenKrupp charged over a fire that killed seven
workers is also valid in Germany.
But the pair, Harald Espenhahn and Gerald Priegnitz, have
contested the ruling, filing an appeal at a court in Hamm.
Last March one of several former Thyssenkrupp
managers who were convicted over a fire at the company's Turin
steel plant in December 2007 in which seven workers died
asked for clemency from President Sergio Mattarella.
Marco Pucci has been in prison since May 2016 serving a term
of six years, three months.
