Carabinieri police on Wednesday
staged a big anti-terrorism operation to execute warrants for
the detention of 15 people in Palermo and the provinces of
Trapani, Caltanissetta and Brescia, sources said.
The suspects are accused of felonies including instigation to
commit terrorism-related crimes, criminal association to aid
illegal immigration and tobacco contraband.
Investigators believe that the suspects organized the
transportation of small groups of migrants from Tunisia to Italy
via fast boats.
Videos of executions carried out by infamous ISIS terrorist
Jihadi John were found on the Facebook profile of one of the
people detained, sources said.
