Almost two-thirds of people in
Italy aged between 18 and 34, 66.4%, still lived in the parental
home in 2017, compared to an EU average of 50%, according to
figures released by Eurostat.
Only Croatia, Malta and Greece had higher rates of young
people living at home.
The distance between Italy and the rest of Europe increases
in the 25-34 age range, when most young people should have
finished their studies and started work.
In Italy 49.3% in this age range are still at home, compared
to an EU average of 30.6%.
