A large fire that broke out
Monday night at a waste facility managed by Rome municipal waste
company AMA was still burning on Tuesday, with 40 firefighters
working to quell the blaze.
The fire at the 2,000-square-metre rubbish centre produced
thick smoke on via Salaria, north of the historic centre, and
the smell of smoke reached the centre.
Carabinieri police are investigating to determine the cause
of the fire.
