A 61-year-old pensioner with
no criminal record turned to pushing cocaine near Bergamo in
order to "put something aside to pay for my funeral", he told a
fast-track trial Tuesday.
The case was reminiscent, a judge said, of cult TV serial
Breaking Bad where a struggling and depressed high school
chemistry teacher with lung cancer turns to a life of crime by
producing and selling crystallized methamphetamine to secure his
family's financial future before he dies.
