Most Italians long for the good
old days, according to a report released on Wednesday.
The study by the CENSIS institute, produced with the support
of supermarket chain Conad, said that seven out of 10 people in
Italy think life was better in the past.
It said the economic crisis that started in 2008 left a deep
mark in terms of lower expectations, consumer spending and
investment and higher levels of inequality and resentment.
The report also said that 95% of Italians are convinced that
it is necessary to have the right connections to get ahead in
life.
