A transport and infrastructure
inspection mission working on the collapse of the Morandi Bridge
in Genoa said in a report that a safety assessment requested
from highways company Autostrade per l'Italia (ASPI) was not
conducted.
The commission said it had reiterated a request made on
August 31 for the assessment and "learned that, on the contrary
to what was said in a statement on June 23, 2017... this
document does not exist.
"It does not exist as no safety assessment of the viaduct was
performed".
