Pope Francis said at his
Wednesday general audience he was praying for those hit by the
earthquake on Ischia. "I send my thoughts and I express
affectionate sympathies to those suffering because of the
earthquake that struck the island of Ischia Monday evening," he
said. "Let us pray for the dead, for the injured, for their
respective relatives and for the people who lost their homes".
The pope sent his condolences Tuesday for Monday night's quake
which killed two women and injured 42, one seriously, leaving
2,600 people homeless.
