Wildfires caused disruption to rail
and road traffic on Monday and caused the Fiat plant at Termoli,
in the central Molise region, to be evacuated. The fires and
smoke led to the A14 highway to be closed for around 20
kilometres in both directions between Vasto and Poggio
Imperiale. Furthermore, services on the Termoli-Foggia rail line
were suspended.
