Two people were killed when a
car ran off the road during the Targa Florio sports car race in
Sicily Friday.
The victims of the crash were a race commissioner, who was
hit by the car, and the driver.
The Targa Florio is an open road endurance automobile race
held in the mountains of Sicily near Palermo.
Founded in 1906, it is the oldest sports car racing event,
and the most famous in Italy behind the Mille Miglia.
