Police said Monday that they
have issued an arrest warrant for an Albanian woman resident of
the province of Lecco for suspected ISIS terrorism.
The woman allegedly became radicalised and in December 2014
left her husband and two daughters and travelled to Syria with
her young son to join ISIS.
The warrant comes following an investigation by Milan
anti-mafia and special ops police.
The woman's husband, also Albanian, reported her
disappearance to police.
A Milan preliminary investigations judge issued the arrest
warrant on November 28 for criminal association with intent to
commit international terrorism.
Investigators said the woman's move to Syria was also
motivated by her intention to marry an ISIS fighter from
Macedonia.
