A court on Friday found Paolo
Cammarota, the guard of Naples' City of Science, guilty of
causing the blaze that destroyed much of the centre in March
2013 and sentenced him to six years in prison.
"How is it possible for an innocent person to be convicted?"
Cammarota asked his lawyer after the ruling was read out.
The lawyer, Luca Capasso, said Cammarota would appeal.
The defendant remains at large pending the appeal.
