Amatrice Mayor Sergio Pirozzi
said Thursday 204 bodies have been pulled from the rubble so far
after yesterday's earthquake flattened most of the central
Italian mountain village.
Another 15 people, including two children, are still
missing, the mayor said.
Pirozzi added 120 bodies have yet to be identified. There
are several reasons for this, he said.
"I recognized at least four of them," said Pirozzi.
"Many are unknown to us, others are unrecognizable. I
personally recognized young Ahmed, the Afghan refugee who had
made a place in Amatrice's heart".
"I know Gianni the baker is still missing," the mayor
added.
"We know where he could be, but we haven't found him yet".
